French and Chinese ministers for health, agriculture and space have signed research cooperation agreements to boost ties between the countries.
President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to China between 8 and 10 January resulted in about 50 agreements in total, according to the French press.
In space research, where France and China already have an agreement, CNES, France’s national space research agency, signed an agreement on data distribution with the China National Space Administration covering results from the Chinese-French Oceanic Satellite. The satellite is due to be launched in China this summer and incorporates instruments developed in both countries.
