€500m raise for research ministry confirmed by government

Extra funds boost ‘student plan’ but total research budget across all ministries remains constant

The French government’s budget for 2020, published on 27 September, has set the spending allocation for the ministry for higher education, research and innovation at €25.5 billion—up from €25.0bn in 2019.

The figures are in line with those proposed in the government’s spending plan for 2020, which was published in July.
