Funders CNRS and ANR agree financial boosts for local research

The CNRS, France’s largest public research organisation, has signed off on a protocol for cooperation with the Île-de-France region. Meanwhile, the ANR, France’s national research agency, has begun a three-year programme to support “research excellence” in Normandy.

The CNRS move follows a similar announcement in March with a view to supporting research cooperation in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in south-west France. The aim of the funder’s cooperation protocol is to combine regional and CNRS assets in pursuit of shared research goals, as well as to promote women in science and to strengthen links with business.
