CNRS partners with ministry of education and youth to promote mathematics as “living science”
France is pitching the 2019-2020 academic year as the Year of Maths, hoping to promote mathematics as a living science to students and teachers.
Organised in partnership with the CNRS research fund, the initiative seeks to present mathematics as something that is omnipresent in society, the ministry of education said. It hopes to show “a different face” of maths to those unfamiliar with it.
