Government decree makes mega-university merger official

The French government issued a formal decree on 6 November finalising the creation of Paris-Saclay University, which it described as “a public institution of a scientific, cultural and professional nature”.

Due to open in January 2020, Paris-Saclay University will form a major addition to the existing research cluster in the Essonne department located on the south-western fringes of Paris.
