ANR, CNRS and Université Grenoble Alpes investigate climate records

A team of French and Italian researchers will spend Christmas in Antarctica, having first set foot on the ice on 7 December.

The goal of the mission, which is funded by France’s National Research Agency ANR, is to gather data that could yield a better understanding of climate records, including ice ages. The researchers also hope to get better at predicting changes in sea levels due to climate change.
