QUANTUM centre at new French campus university will focus on interdisciplinary research

France is preparing to open its own interdisciplinary research centre with a focus on quantum science, in response to growing political and industrial interest in the field.

The QUANTUM centre, to be located in the University of Paris-Saclay, is intended to strengthen both basic research and interdisciplinarity to accelerate technological progress. The centre is also forecast to develop the necessary links between different fields of physics and other disciplines, notably engineering, computer science and mathematics, its organisers said.
