CNRS unveils Notre Dame research programme

Researchers will investigate the outpouring of emotion that accompanied the fire that partially destroyed the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, as part of a programme directed by the CNRS, France’s largest public research organisation.

The CNRS unveiled the content of the multidisciplinary research programme on 20 May.

The statement was accompanied by an interview with the programme’s newly appointed co-directors Philippe Dillmann and Martine Regert. Dillmann is director of the Iramat archaeological research institute in Orléans, while Regert is assistant scientific director of the Inee environmental institute in Paris.
