Senate vote clears last hurdle for controversial research reform bill as academics continue strikes
The French government’s plans to reform research funding and academic work have passed the final legislative hurdle, following a successful vote in the Senate.
On 20 November, France’s upper house of parliament passed the amended bill with 224 votes for and 95 against. Taking to social media, research minister Frédérique Vidal hailed the final adoption of the text.
