Saclay plans to lure British researchers post-Brexit

Paris capital region launches LinkedIn campaign targeting some 170,000 British-based scientists

The greater Paris region will become home to many a researcher currently working in British businesses and universities—according to plans spearheaded by Valérie Pécresse, president of the regional council of the Ile-de-France and former minister for higher education and research.

Just days after the UK left the European Union on 31 January, the Ile-de-France region announced it had launched a recruitment drive on the social network LinkedIn. The initiative is aimed at convincing as many as possible of what its creators say could potentially be 170,000 disappointed scientists and researchers to move to France.
