Health ministry to spend €9m on applied research

Accelerated programme merges projects in emergency move to tackle coronavirus

France’s ministry of Solidarity and Health will provide direct funding to 11 emergency research projects tasked with finding better ways to diagnose and treat the Covid-19 virus.

A jury considered 27 projects and chose 11 as priority projects, according to the health ministry. In a statement following the decision, the ministry said “the jury recommended that certain teams were brought together” in order to avoid the multiplication of research.
