France earmarks €41m for supercomputing project

              

Exascale research programme will aim to provide digital “sovereignty”

France has announced plans to invest €40.8 million over six years in a research programme to boost its capacity in exascale supercomputing.  

The NumPex project will be jointly led by the CNRS, France’s largest public research organisation, the CEA, France’s public research organisation for energy, defence and technology, and Inria, the national digital technology research agency, with funding coming from the France 2030 investment programme.
