France starts work on national health-research data upgrade

          

Six projects worth €40m will build and consolidate regional data warehouses and networks

The French government has announced the six winners of a flagship funding scheme dedicated to improving infrastructure, access and sharing of data in healthcare and medical research.

The funding announced on 3 April is the first of two rounds of projects dedicated to building and consolidating health data warehouses in health facilities and ultimately building a national network for the production and sharing of health data, which will include not just public bodies but also “private actors in research and innovation”, the government said.
