Research ministry holds talks on programme for strategic scientific fields

Talks have opened between government and the major players in French research to determine the direction of the priority research and equipment (PEPR) funding programme, which was allocated €3 billion in 2021 as part of the France 2030 investment plan.

More than a hundred participants from research agencies and universities were expected on 24 May to discuss the governance, track record and future opportunities of the programme, which aims to “build or consolidate French leadership” by prioritising research in specified scientific fields.
