Paris-Saclay slowly recovering from cyberattack

University president promises cybersecurity reassessment after attack that obliquely affected research

Camille Galap, the president of Paris-Saclay University, France’s leading higher education institution, has said it could take months for the university to fully recover from a cyberattack that took place during the summer break.

The 11 August attack targeted email and data servers used by the central administrative services, and in particular the engineering and technology schools IUT and Polytech Paris-Saclay, as well as the OSU observatory.
