Another Leopoldina member wins Nobel prize

A member of Germany’s science academy, Leopoldina, has won the Nobel prize for medicine, it was announced on 3 October.

Jules Hoffmann, who was born in Luxembourg, received the award together with his US colleague, Bruce Beutler, for describing the principles of innate immunity.
