Baden-Württemberg takes action to drop student fees

Baden-Württemberg ministerial council’s proposed law to abolish student fees in the Land has been sent to the federal government for comment, it was announced on 29 September.

Theresia Bauer, the Land’s science minister, said the legislation aimed to abolish student fees by the start of the 2012 summer semester. She assured universities that they would be subsidised by the government for the loss of funding.
