German student wins physics prize

A German A-level student has won a €5,000 prize for physics research in the European Union Contest for Young Scientists.

Benjamin Walter, a 17-year-old from Meissen, won the second prize in the Europe-wide competition organised by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Germany’s largest public research funder.
