Bayreuth university refutes zu Guttenberg’s bias claims

The University of Bayreuth has rejected accusations by Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg, Germany’s former defence minister, who said the university’s PhD commission did not do a proper job investigating his thesis.

Zu Guttenberg, who had to leave his job in March this year after his thesis was found to contain excessive plagiarism, said he was not ready to accept the university’s findings. In a book on the case published today (29 November) zu Guttenberg says the university’s committee was not qualified to check his PhD thesis.
