NRW plans programme to support women researchers

The North Rhine-Westphalian research ministry is planning to create a special funding programme for women in science, which will include more funding for gender research.

Svenja Schulze, the Land’s research minister, said on 28 November that a packet of funding and support initiatives would be presented by the ministry in early 2012. The programme will include support funding for women in science and female early-career scientists, as well as funding for gender research and initiatives to improve the careers of women at universities.
