Research ministry gets 11 per cent budget hike for 2012

Germany’s research and education ministry will have a budget increase of 11 per cent on this year’s budget for 2012, bringing the total budget for next year up to €12.9 billion.

The increase is part of Germany’s strategy to overcome the financial crisis through research and innovation. It is the largest research and education budget the country ever had.
