Margret Wintermantel, president of the German Rectors’ Conference, has been elected president of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), it was announced on 21 June.
Wintermantel will take up the post on 1 January 2012. She replaces Sabine Kunst, who became Brandenburg’s science minister in February this year.
