Fair accelerator receives Russian magnet

The Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany, has received a first magnet for the super fragment separator of the planned Fair accelerator.

The 95-ton magnet was designed, built and tested at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics in Nowosibirk, Russia, before being transported in parts to Germany.
