North Rhine-Westphalia starts care degrees

North Rhine-Westphalia has created degrees for training in nursing and care professions in a bid to improve the quality of education in these fields and the reputation of such qualifications.

The Fliedner University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf will offer four degrees in children’s education, care, care management and educational care from October onwards, the Land’s government announced on 15 September. The local parish has a 175-year history of training carers, and will contribute some of the teaching modules for the courses.
