German-Jordanian university opens near Amman

A German-Jordanian university in Madaba near Amman was officially opened on 21 October.

The university, modelled on German applied science universities, will receive about €1.3 million per year from the German government, according to the German research ministry. Construction of the campus, which so far has six buildings containing offices, lecture theatres and laboratories, has cost €6 million, provided through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
