The Polarstern, Germany’s most prestigious research ship, is turning 30 this year and will have a birthday party on 3 June, the Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Ocean Research has announced.
The ship will be open to the public on that day, and there will be a series of presentations to demonstrate the work of the Polarstern and its scientific achievements.
