Sustainability focus for science year 2012

The German Science Year 2012 is about sustainability, including a project on the future of the planet, according to the German research ministry.

Annette Schavan, the research minister, announced on 8 February that all projects in the annual Science Year initiative for German cities would involve sustainability. The government has €3.5 million to give to cities for projects to raise citizens’ awareness of sustainability and the research needs in this field.
