A group of biology, health and ecology research departments at the Helmholtz Centre in Munich have teamed up to form the Helmholtz Department of Environmental Sciences.
The department will continue the work of the separate institutes but will launch a series of interdisciplinary research programmes to study the influence of climate change on Earth’s ecosystems. This will include research on the use of resources and the effects of global warming on health.
