Max Planck journals to expand

A journal on computational astrophysics will be added to a series of open-access publications funded by Germany's Max Planck Society and institutes this year.

Living Reviews, a series launched in 1998, provides free, updated overviews of different scientific fields. The forthcoming journal will be the sixth in the series.

The journals are funded by the Max Planck Society and its digital library, with extra funding from individual research institutes. Series founder Bernard Schutz, director of the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, said he was holding talks with other research organisations to set up additional titles.
