Schleswig-Holstein’s government is looking at boosting “blue growth” through marine biotechnology, as part of a development strategy to be presented this month.
The strategy for marine biotechnology development is to be formally launched on 24 May. However, the state government announced on 7 May that it had already founded a series of working groups to look into recommendations made by the strategy document, already in the government’s hands.
Written by a firm of consultants, the strategy looks at the state’s potential to support and grow companies that deal with marine biotechnology. It also contains some recommendations on improving academic research and seed funding for relevant small businesses, according to the Schleswig-Holstein government.
