Three universities recognised for quality teaching

This year’s Stifterverband awards for the best teacher training have been awarded to the Leuphana University Lüneburg, the Technical University Munich and the University of Hamburg. Each takes home a prize of €500,000.

The winners are supposed to use the funding to further improve their teacher training and innovation programmes, and build their profiles as institutions that offer excellent teaching, the Stifterverband said.

The Stifterverband, an association of German research funders, awards the prize jointly with the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation to higher education instiuttions that are judged to use exceptional concepts for teacher training.
