Partnership between Germany and Greece gets €10m

Tackling the effects of the economic crisis will be one of the main aims of a series of 20 joint research projects to be carried out by Germany and Greece.

The projects, launched on 1 January, will receive more than €10 million from the BMBF, Germany’s federal ministry of education and research, and the Greek secretariat for research and technology.

A joint statement published by the BMBF said that some of the projects, in the social sciences and humanities, would focus in particular on the perception of the global economic crisis in the two countries. Other projects will deal with health, energy, ICT and nanotechnology.
