Open day shows diversity of German archives

Germany has held a national day to present the work of the country's archives and draw attention to their contribution to science and public education.

The Men Women Power archive day was held on 8 March. As part of the event, archives across the country opened for the weekend, and organised discussions and exhibitions to demonstrate their work.

The archive in Halle, home of Germany’s Leopoldina science foundation, exhibited the diversity of its stock, including protocols, portraits, private correspondence, artwork and medals.
