NRW start-ups get €70m fund

North Rhine-Westphalia's government and the European Regional Development Fund are to provide €70 million to fund university spinout companies in the state.

The money is intended to help universities turn research results into innovative products and services, the state’s research ministry said on 27 February.

It will be awarded in two phases. In the first, up to €4.6m a year will be provided for spinout companies to be founded.
