€7m for societal projects

Six projects led by young researchers have been chosen to receive special support from North Rhine-Westphalia’s government.

As part of the research strategy Fortschritt NRW, the state’s research ministry announced its support for six projects, each led by a promising young researcher who has the potential to become a professor at the end of the project. Four of the projects will be carried out at the University of Cologne, while the other two are based at Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Münster.

The state will provide 90 per cent of staff costs for each group annually, for six years. The total amount of funding for the projects will be more than €7 million.
