Money announced for business R&D

Germany’s federal research ministry has unveiled a 10-point programme to support innovation at small and medium-sized businesses, including a 30 per cent rise in funding.

In a press release on 13 January, the ministry said that the programme would promote novel ideas, applications and business models, and would help to drive dissemination of research findings among small businesses.

The first point of the programme is a two-year, temporary funding increase of 30 per cent: the total funding for small businesses will be €320 million in 2016 and €320m again in 2017.
