Germany to host environmental forum

The German government has announced that it will fund and host the Global Landscapes Forum for the next four years.

At a meeting of the forum in Marrakech on 16 November, Jochen Flasbarth, a state secretary in Germany’s federal environment ministry, announced that the city of Bonn would host the Global Landscapes Forum from the start of 2017.

Flasbarth said that the forum was leading the global debate on sustainable land use and sustainable forestry. “What you are doing is a masterpiece of implementing the [UN’s] Sustainable Development goals,” he said.
