The federal state of Hessen will provide 150 additional posts for researchers at its universities after a funding windfall worth €3 billion was approved by the government.
The state’s budget for 2017 includes €2.7bn for science, research and teaching, to be distributed among Hessen’s universities. This represents an €18.6-million increase for universities compared to 2016, the state’s government said.
