A total of 221 students have received funding to study and do a PhD in Germany as part of the leadership programme run by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The programme’s cohort of 2015-16 will receive funding to complete their masters degree or doctoral thesis, and will have access to the DAAD’s Intensive Blended Learning Programme. This programme teaches leadership skills and management to the students in the hope that they will one day return to a safer Syria and help rebuild the war-wrecked country.
