Germany’s federal education ministry has chosen 25 researchers from 22 countries for its 2016 Green Talents awards.
The winners, recognised for their “outstanding achievements in making our societies more sustainable”, will travel around Germany for two weeks to visit universities and will conduct research for up to three months, according to a statement on the Green Talents website.
Winners include Hèou Maléki Badjana from Togo, whose research in hydro-climate analysis and land change is playing a crucial role in the country’s water conservation efforts; and Rachel Kelly from Ireland, who is aiming to increase sustainable development in the fishing industry.
