International humanities prizes announced

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has awarded €250,000 to each of six humanities and social-science scholars.

The winners of the Anneliese Maier Research Awards will use the money to collaborate with partner institutions in Germany for up to five years.

Three recipients are based in the United States, and one each in France, Italy and the UK.
