The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Germany’s largest public research funder, has announced funding of €23 million to be shared between nine research groups.
At a meeting on 4-6 July in Mainz, the DFG chose the nine projects for an initial three years’ support, with the possibility of extending funding after that period.
The projects cover the topics of: low-temperature combustion; 19th-century magazines and newspapers; gas diffusion electrodes; cell plasticity in colorectal carcinogenesis; dipolar quantum gases; mechanical repair of heart and lung failure; hereditary movement disorders; topological phases in ultracold atoms; and diagnostic capabilities in simulation-based learning environments.
