A consortium of research institutions has been created to increase the scope of Germany’s publicly funded researcher identification system.
ORCID DE, the German version of the Open Researcher and Contributor ID system, is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Germany’s largest public funder. In a blog post on 25 August, ORCID DE announced that a memorandum of understanding had been signed by the DFG, the project’s partners and the German National Library of Science and Technology in Hannover.
The library will now be responsible for the administrative management of the consortium, which all research institutions in Germany are welcome to join.
