An excellence cluster between three universities in Düsseldorf, Jülich and Cologne has received €5 million to create an institute and professorship in molecular plant biology.
The money is part of a research prize awarded to the cluster for its excellent work on plant research. The Alexander von Humboldt Prize will pay for research into plant and membrane biology, with a focus on medicines to regulate blood sugars in humans.
