A Fraunhofer institute on robotics and design technology has opened in Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The institute will receive about €8 million in funding from the North-Rhine Westphalian government over the first few years. It is the first institute from the Fraunhofer Society, a group of independent public research centres, to be created in the state in 20 years.
