About 492,000 people successfully completed their studies at a German university in 2016, a rise of 2 per cent from the previous year.
The findings extend a continuous upward trend since 2001, the news website Spiegel Online reported on 14 September.
The biggest difference from 2015 was in people completing masters courses. This figure rose by nine per cent to 124,400.
