DFG announces €90m in strategic funding

  

Cross-programme spending to promote artificial intelligence developments in knowledge creation process

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Germany’s largest public research funder, has approved a “strategic funding initiative” in the field of artificial intelligence.

In the coming years, projects from all areas of AI research are to be funded with a total of €90 million across various programmes administered by the DFG. The intention is to promote and adapt to the increasing prevalence of AI methods in the knowledge creation process in research and science, the organisation said.
