Ministry announces €300m for green hydrogen

Top-up meant to make heavy industry greener and move towards climate neutrality

Federal research minister Anja Karliczek has awarded an additional €300 million for R&D into “Green Hydrogen”, as part of the German government’s climate protection package.

Green hydrogen—hydrogen produced by the sun and wind—is the “energy carrier of the future”, Karliczek said in a statement. “[It] is also the key building block to achieving our climate goals.”
