Germany’s universities have teamed up to deliver a series of lectures on the impact and scope of global warning, as part of a deal with the Scientists for Future movement.
Over the next week, numerous university professors and readers will, under the guidance of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, address climate change in their lectures. The initiative was created in an attempt to signal that urgent action is needed to mitigate lasting harm to Earth and the atmosphere, the organisers said in a statement on 12 June.
Students were called upon to act as “multipliers”, and encouraged to share comments on social media, using the hashtag #LecturesForFuture.
