Free University of Berlin re-examines decision to let Franziska Giffey keep academic title
The Free University of Berlin has hired an external adviser to deliver an independent assessment on whether the university made the right choice in refusing to revoke family affairs minister Franziska Giffey’s PhD.
The minister’s doctorate was investigated last year over alleged plagiarism. The resulting report, which was previously kept private, was made public last week by the General Student Committee (Asta FU) of the Free University of Berlin, which obtained it under a freedom of information request.
